Nappy Hair, Pink Lips...

This is where I spent my Saturday. At The Vintage Shop, with my girl Makkah.  I know you have seen her featured before on this blog, but I absolutely adore her and count her as one of my closest friends.  She has been selling vintage clothing for a while, but more recently, she has been focusing on creating a makeup line that focuses on highly pigmented lip color for Black women.  This night, she was showcasing the many shades of pink she carries, hence, part of the name.  The other part of the name, the "Nappy Hair", comes from Ashley Patrice, also known as, Urbane-Natural who partnered with Makkah to bring her natural hair care line to people of Baltimore.  Now, although her products are formulated for hair, because they are shea butter-based, I have been using them in place of my lotion.  They are absolutely amazing.  Visit her website for more information, or to order products.  Below, pictures that detail some of the awesomeness that was, "Nappy Hair, Pink Lips".

Please let me be THIS fly at this age.  This woman was fly and had the nerve to buy this cape from the Vintage Shop.  This kind of fly doesn't come with age.  Nor does it leave.

PS. Doesn't this sepia coloring make everything a little better?  To me it did...

Fia's Fabulous Finds...

"Fia's Fabulous Finds is a shop for women to find nearly new clothing for much less than retail prices."  This is the description on the website for Fia's Fabulous Finds.  But imagine this: You take the closets of your ten most stylish friends, combine them together in some chasm of fashion, functionality, and affordability, and you have FIa's Fabulous Finds.  You all know my obsession with thrifting, vintage clothing, clothing swaps, and shopping your closet, and Fia's Fabulous Finds satisfies my craving for all of these.  Even more attractive is the store is merchandised like any other retail store, with clothing items separated by type and size, outerwear with outerwear, and she actually has shoes in a size 10, 10 1/2 and 11. The merchandise is in gently-used or "nearly-new" condition (many items had original tags on them), and the labels are very recognizable.  True Religion, Seven, Rock and Republic, Ann Taylor, Talbots, Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, Prada, Nine West, Seychelles, Gap, etc.  The store is jam-packed with finds for everyone. And Fia is the absolute sweetest person with the greatest energy surrounding her.  If you live in DC, or are in the area, please support Fia and her store.

We went to Blue Dolphin to celebrate Jamila's birthday this weekend.  She is a fellow Sag, so we are always celebrating our b'days together.  To mark the occasion, Jamila was her usual trendy, fabulous self (as are most Sagittarians - Jay-Z, Nicki Minaj, Miley Cyrus, Jimi Hendrix, Gianni Versace, Better Midler, need I say more?)  Because together we can sometimes look like a Pop/R&B Group, I decided to keep my look as simple as possible.  But as usual, we were both in Black.  Not exactly a group of R&B Divas, but a singer and a back-up singer perhaps? LOL. Happy birthday to my Sag Sistah, do it up and do it well...
